Ana Laín obtained her bachelor's and doctorate in Biology at the University of the Basque Country, with a project on molecular diagnosis of infectious diseases, for which she obtained the extraordinary doctorate award. Later, he joined the CIC bioGUNE where he has worked in various lines of research, especially in the search for new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of rare diseases. She is co-author of several international publications as well as two patents, including the first ODD (Orphan Drug Designation) approved by the European Medicines Agency that has been obtained in the Basque Country (https://www.cicbiogune.es / news / european-medicines-agency-ema-favorably-comments-orphan-drug-designation-molecule-activity).
