David Fernández Ramos obtained his degree in biology in 2006 and his Master in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine in 2007 at the University of the Basque Country. Then, he was awarded by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III with the PFIS scholarship for developing its PhD and joined CIC bioGUNE in 2008, obtaining his PhD in 2012. In late 2012 he joined José M. Mato CIBERehd group. His investigation has been focused on liver disease and metabolism, including RNA binding proteins, microRNAs, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) diagnosis and therapy, and participations in transfer agreements with companies in the field of NAFLD.  Recently, he became part of Precision Medicine and Metabolism Laboratory at CIC bioGUNE, with the aim of combining the biological point of view with the mass spectrometry and magnetic resonance technologies in order to boost the comprehension of metabolic changes occurring in diverse diseases. His scientific production includes 32 articles, with H-index of 17.
